		Metropolis Development launches public art series May 20, 2006 "The Art of Metropolis, different by design"; Metropolis Development launches public art series. Metropolis Development Company will launch its public art series "The Art of Metropolis, different by design" at an opening reception, Saturday May 20, 2006 at the Metropolis Sales Center, 1522 14th Street, NW, from 7 PM to 9 PM. "The Art of Metropolis, different by design" will present a representative exhibit of commissioned artwork by Los Angeles artist, Colin Day. Colin Day is a 2004 summa cum laude graduate of The California College of Arts and Crafts. His work has been exhibited in the West. Of this series Day says, "These paintings aim to be beautiful, in order to elevate the mind stuck inside concrete and metal. The urban experience is out of balance with the natural pace and order of life. So much time is spent worrying about time spent and energy wasted trying to save time.
